Sculptor and engraver, Jean-Boris Anastassiévitch was born on February 17, 1926 in Seyssuel (Isère, France). He exhibited for the first time in Lyon in 1946, where he studied (classical) and Fine Arts. A year later, he met the sculptor Ossip Zadkine in Paris, of whom he became a student. He left in 1953 for Belgrade (Yugoslavia), where he stayed until 1968, when he returned to France. He regularly participated in the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. He died on August 25, 2007.
