Roberto SALAS. Born in New York, he moved to Havana in 1959 and joined the newspaper Revolución, he collaborated with the magazine Bohemia, he is also the founder of the newspaper Granma. In 1960, he worked as a correspondent for the United Nations. He is among the founders of the Agencia Prensa Latina (New York office). From 1966 to 1967 and from 1972 to 1973, he went to Vietnam to cover the conflict. He was appointed photographer of the Press Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba from 1970 to 197. He holds the AFIAP award (International Artist of the International Federation of Photographic Art, of which he was the representative in the Caribbean). In 2002, he won the Olorum Cubano award for his entire body of work sponsored by the FCIF. Founding member of UNEAC and UPEC, and honorary member of FCIF. His works can be found in museums and galleries around the world.
