Italy, possibly Florence Renaissance period, 16th century Bronze statuette representing a young man with a dolphin Bronze, sea-green marble base Old patina, small accidents on the base 7.5 x 13.2cm including base Private collection Rare bronze statuette representing a naked young man with a dolphin. He is shown standing on the cetacean, the latter on a circular base, his right foot placed on the pectoral fin, his left foot resting on his head. His right arm pressed against his body, his hand on his chest, his left hand clasping the animal’s tail.
