Marshal Jean LANNES - Signed autograph letter

Autograph letter signed to his wife Louise Guéhenneuc. La Cassagne July 25th, 1808; 1 page ½ in-4th, addressed on the back, rest of monogrammed red wax seal.

Marshal Lannes takes care of the health of Murat, the King of Naples: "The Emperor left yesterday from Tarbes for Toulouse where he must remain three days, and from on there to go to Paris via Nantes. The King of Naples [Joachim Murat] has been very ill and is much better. We are going to spend two or three days in Lectoure [hometown of Jean Lannes], I do not want to leave him alone, I hope we will be in Paris around the tenth of next month ... Please (...) go see the Queen [Caroline Bonaparte, Queen of Naples] and tell her that she can be reassured about the King's health, and that I will do everything needed to make the stay at Lectoure as pleasurable as possible (...) Farewell, my dear Louise, with all my heart ... "
