Victor HUGO Signed letter evoking his mistress Juliette Drouet to his friend Paul Meurice. Sunday morning (circa 1871)

1 page in-12th on mourning paper with its envelope.

Hugo cancels an invitation to remain by his sick Juliette Drouet: "Dear Meurice, Mrs Drouet is in bed and here I am as a carer. We will not be able to have dinner together, and I am quite sad. Yours from the bottom of my heart. It is a major case of bronchitis or flu (…). I hope that this will cease in a few days."
