Interesting letter about a painting bought by the Museum of Modern Art in Paris and Madame Butterfly's premiere at La Scala in Milan: "(...) I hope that the Berger Vachon family is doing very well and it must be so good in Bouzaliah (Algeria) at the moment. In Paris there is a wave of cold and heating is stopped, I have had hip pain for 2 days. The other day I received a small package or there are two things I forgot at yours. Thank you so much. You have talked about another landscape, which you will want to know I still have at home. Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for me. This canvas is home to the Modern Museum of Paris. I deeply regretted your kind proposal. In two days I leave for Milan.

There will be the première of Madam Butterfly on May 10th in Scala. I always keep good memories of your home I think of your home gardens and your rooms and Mrs. Vachon France and Agnès, Jean Marie and the other members of your family ..."
