The seahorse plowing the waters, proud and mysterious, is the subject of this work. Often represented in art as a figure that embraces both the terrestrial and marine life, his creation is associated
with the god Poseidon, according to Greek mythology. The god had also chosen it as a sacred animal, and therefore he was often depicted riding a chariot drawn by seahorses.
